“I help people become themselves again.” Geoff believes that prosthetists have the unique opportunity to support patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives—and to play a meaningful role in their comeback story.The most rewarding part of his work is helping patients find their way back to who they used to be, and watching them rediscover their happiness.

    A Defining Patient Experience

    During his internship, Geoff met a patient who had recently undergone a below-the-knee amputation at a local hospital. As he introduced himself, he realized the patient was someone familiar—an old family friend he hadn’t seen in years.

    She had once been wheelchair-bound, and over time had also lost her eyesight and her leg due to diabetes. Supporting her through the process and helping her take her first steps again became a defining moment in Geoff’s journey.
